songwriter/composer

Delivery: A Triptych (2018) was performed at the Tank in Manhattan and the Cincinnati Fringe Festival. I composed music with my writing partner Marlena Mack, with lyrics by Genevieve Simon. The show and its score rapidly dive-bomb between genres. The music mixes elements of alt-rock, jazz, and country to create a world that feels as absurdly unreliable as our own.

Romeo + Juliet + Anybodys

(2017) was performed at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, and won the Critic’s Pick Award. Citybeat writes:

Mack and Houston’s original score — without a shred of Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story melodies — grabs you by the ears and makes you listen…

Composed with Marlena Mack, and accompanying a script by Genevieve Simon. Listen to some demos below.

GO HOME

(2015-present) is a band and a performance experiment all rolled into one. We write pop songs that descend into waves of noise, populated with a host of unreliable narrators just like you. Musical touchstones include Dirty Projectors, Patsy Cline, Mitski, and tUnEyArDs. Recently, GO HOME has been releasing a series called Field Recordings, pairing recordings of their songs with monologues from their live shows. Available on Spotify, Apple Music, and major streaming platforms.
